I tend to not follow directions too perfectly (which sometimes backfires on me) and when I did my button band, I just picked up evenly. I actually took the time to mark increments of 10 sts all the way around and figured out how many I should pick up so I would start and end on k2. Hope this helps! Looks great so far!

I had to pick up in every stitch to get the right amount. I cast off with a needle one size smaller to stop the edges going wavy!
